Therapeutic Coaching

  • What is it?

I blend therapeutic and clinical elements from my background as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and elements of coaching which includes all of the teaching, modeling, and practicing of skills you would expect from a coach. Ultimately, my goal is to help foster youth get through high school, be able to recognize their unique strengths, their interests, and have a plan for the future once they exit the care system. Exiting the care system often times looks like anything but a soft landing; having a plan that supports being independent and self-sufficient is what I aim to create with my clients.

  • So, what do you do?

The short answer is: whatever it takes.

The longer answer is maybe best given in examples. My work has looked like this:

    - Bringing a client who is interested in becoming a veterinarian to meet an actual vet and be able to ask questions and imagine themselves in the same position

    - Advocating for clients who may have learning disabilities to get assessments or accomodations to meet their needs and make it through school

    - Tour colleges or vocational programs to be able to feel themselves entering spaces they might have thought they never belonged in

    - LIstening. Lots of listening. To the good stuff. The hard stuff. The confusing stuff.

  • Who is eligible?

Currently, I offer this 1:1 service for foster youth of Williamson County, Texas. I do this via my parternship with Simple Sparrow Care Farm who are utilized as a therapeutic resource through the child welfare court system.

  • My Unique Partnership

I am a parterning therapist with Simple Sparrow Care Farm in Hutto, Texas. They serve our community by offering opportunities for those who have experienced trauma to care for land, garden, and animals and in a parallel process, they learn to care for themselves and others on their healing journey.
